Hanoi: A forthcoming resolution on Vietnam's new development model must affirm that the country's core development philosophy in the new era is to build national capacity for innovation, self-reliance, and adaptation, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam said on June 4. Chairing a working session with the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies and relevant agencies on a project to renew the country's development model based on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, the top leader said the proposal will be submitted to the Politburo for consideration before being presented to the 14th Party Central Committee for the issuance of a resolution.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of crafting a development model that aligns with global trends and addresses the unique challenges facing Vietnam. The focus will be on leveraging science and technology to foster sustainable growth, enhance competitiveness, and ensure the country's long-term resilience in an increasingly complex international landscape.
The proposal emphasizes the necessity of embracing digital transformation and innovation as pivotal elements of the new development model. It underscores the need to strengthen Vietnam's capability to independently innovate while adapting to global changes, thereby ensuring that the nation can navigate future uncertainties with confidence.
As the proposal moves towards review by the Politburo and eventually the 14th Party Central Committee, it is expected to lay the foundation for strategic initiatives that will drive Vietnam's growth trajectory in the coming years. The resolution aims to provide a clear roadmap for achieving national objectives through enhanced innovation and adaptability.
