Hanoi: Party General Secretary To Lam on May 13 emphasised the need to continue extensive dissemination of the purpose, significance, scope, and content of the amendments and supplements to several articles of the 2013 Constitution to the public. Chairing the Secretariat’s meeting on the collection of public opinions, as well as feedback from sectors and agencies at all levels regarding this work, Lam highlighted the importance of diversifying the forms of gathering public opinions, ensuring the promotion of democracy, and encouraging the people to contribute their feedback through the VNeID application.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the emphasis on public involvement is seen as a crucial step in aligning the constitutional amendments with the citizens’ needs and expectations. The Party General Secretary stressed that the ongoing dissemination efforts should not only inform but also actively engage the public in the process, thereby strengthening the democratic processes within the country.
The meeting underscored the necessity of enhancing communication channels to reach a broader audience, ensuring that citizens from various regions and backgrounds can access information and voice their opinions. The VNeID application, a digital platform for public engagement, was particularly noted for its role in facilitating convenient and accessible feedback channels for citizens.
This initiative reflects a broader commitment by the party leadership to incorporate citizen feedback in governance and constitutional matters, thereby fostering a more inclusive political environment. The continued focus on public participation aims to ensure that the amendments to the Constitution are reflective of the people’s will and contribute to the nation’s development goals.
