Party Chief Demands Building Stronger Political Foundation for People’s Army

Hanoi: Party General Secretary To Lam, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, had a working session with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) in Hanoi on July 23, during which he highlighted the importance of promoting efforts and measures to build a politically strong military deeply rooted in its bonds with the people. The Party leader acknowledged and commended the achievements made by the General Department of Politics in recent years and the first half of 2025.

According to Vietnam News Agency, during the session, To Lam emphasized the need for the Vietnam People’s Army to maintain a close relationship with the populace, ensuring that the military’s political foundation remains robust and reflective of the people’s interests. He stressed the critical role that the General Department of Politics plays in guiding the political and ideological education within the military, fostering unity and resilience among the ranks.

To Lam’s remarks come at a time when regional security dynamics are evolving, necessitating a strong and cohesive military that is not only well-equipped but also deeply integrated with the nation’s social and political fabric. The Party leader urged the General Department of Politics to continue its work in nurturing this integration, ensuring that the military remains a steadfast pillar of national sovereignty and stability.
