Davos: Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a keynote speech at the seminar on the future of global trade and development in the smart era, in Davos on January 21 afternoon (local time). Held within the framework of the 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and bilateral activities in Switzerland, the seminar was designed exclusively for Vietnam by the WEF, serving as a platform to shape the agenda for the 16th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16) to be hosted by Vietnam later this year. The event was moderated by UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan and attended by senior leaders and representatives from international organisations along with distinguished scholars and international experts.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the seminar aimed to address critical issues surrounding the evolving landscape of global trade and its impact on development strategies. It emphasized the significance of adapting to advancements in technology and innovation in shaping trade policies. The discussions held during the event are expected to provide valuable insights for the upcoming UNCTAD16 session, ensuring that Vietnam is at the forefront of global trade discussions and decision-making processes.
