Moscow: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on March 25 met with President of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association (RVFA) Vladimir Petrovich Buyanov, and Nikolay Nikolaevich Kolesnik, Chairman of the Russian War Veterans' Association (RWVA), who had fought in Vietnam, as part of his official visit to Russia.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening the ties between Vietnam and Russia. Discussions covered the historical support provided by Russian veterans during the Vietnam War and exploring avenues to enhance cultural and educational exchanges through the RVFA.
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the contributions of the Russian veterans and acknowledged the long-standing friendship between the two nations. The meeting is part of broader efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation in various sectors including trade, education, and defense.
The leaders agreed to continue fostering people-to-people connectivity and cultural understanding, aiming to build upon the foundation laid by past collaborations. The visit underscores Vietnam's commitment to maintaining strong international partnerships.
