PM Requests Greater Efforts to Operate Long Thanh International Airport on Schedule

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 14 called on teams to accelerate the construction of the Long Thanh International Airport in the southern province of Dong Nai to make it ready for the first flight on December 19 and commercial operations in the first half of 2026. During his trip to inspect the project’s construction site, PM Chinh commended units, contractors, and especially 15,000 experts, engineers, and workers, for speeding up the project’s construction to meet the schedule.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines to ensure that the airport becomes operational as planned. This new airport is expected to significantly enhance the transportation infrastructure in the region, providing improved connectivity and boosting economic activities.

The Long Thanh International Airport project is one of the major infrastructure projects in Vietnam, aimed at relieving pressure on the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
