PM Urges Acceleration of Sci-Tech Development and Digital Transformation

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over the third meeting of the Government’s steering committee for science – technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and a project on developing resident data, e-ID and e-authentication applications (Project 06) in Hanoi on July 20 to review performance in the first half of 2025 and set directions for the rest of the year. The event brought together Deputy Prime Ministers Nguyen Hoa Binh, Bui Thanh Son, Ho Duc Phoc, and Nguyen Chi Dung, along with ministers, heads of ministry-level agencies, government bodies, and leaders from major technology corporations.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on evaluating the progress made in the areas of science and technology development and digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of these sectors in boosting the country’s socio-economic growth. Discussions also highlighted the implementation of Project 06, which aims to enhance the resident data management system and improve e-
ID and e-authentication applications to better serve the public and streamline governmental processes.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged all relevant parties to accelerate efforts in these critical areas, stressing the need for innovative solutions and collaboration between government agencies and technology corporations. By enhancing digital infrastructure and fostering innovation, the government aims to create a more resilient and competitive economy that can adapt to global technological advancements.

The meeting concluded with a call for a unified approach towards achieving the set goals for 2025, ensuring that the country’s digital transformation efforts are sustainable and inclusive, ultimately benefiting all citizens and sectors of the economy.
