Quang Ngai Province Creates Added Value Products for Chrysanthemums.

Quang Ngai: Quang Ngai province’s Tu Nghia district is famously known as the centre of chrysanthemums in the central region, providing the market with flowers for Lunar New Year. In addition to growing chrysanthemums as ornamental plants, a local farmer, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha, develops chrysanthemum tea as a new value-added product for the local flower cultivation. The tea has earned a 3-star OCOP standard, attracting other farmers in Tu Nghia district to expand their cultivation of chrysanthemums to provide raw material for the tea.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this initiative by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha has not only diversified the use of chrysanthemums but has also created new economic opportunities for the local community. The 3-star OCOP standard achieved by the chrysanthemum tea highlights its quality and potential in the market, encouraging more farmers to participate in this venture.

The development of chrysanthemum tea has initiated a shift in the agricultural practices within the district, as mo
re farmers are now cultivating chrysanthemums not just for ornamental purposes but also to produce tea. This shift is expected to enhance the overall income of the farmers and contribute to the economic growth of Tu Nghia district.

The success of this initiative could serve as a model for other regions in the country, demonstrating how traditional agricultural products can be transformed into new, profitable goods.
