Hanoi:The number of Russian visitors to Vietnam is expected to reach an unprecedented 1.5 million by the end of this year. According to Vietnam News Agency, Russian tourist arrivals in Vietnam exceeded 1 million in the first eight months of 2026, marking a significant 165.7% increase compared to the previous year. This makes Russia the fastest-growing international tourist market for Vietnam.
Russia's rise in the rankings saw it move from around seventh place in 2025 to become Vietnam's third-largest source of international tourists, trailing only China with 3.54 million visitors and the Republic of Korea with 2.76 million. Popular beach destinations such as Nha Trang, Mui Ne, and Phu Quoc continue to draw Russian tourists, largely due to favorable weather conditions, well-developed resorts, and a variety of culinary offerings.
