This event marked the beginning of To Lam's three-day state visit to Singapore, highlighting the strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Vietnam News Agency, during his visit, To Lam is set to attend the Shangri-La Dialogue, where he will deliver a keynote address. This platform will provide the Vietnamese leader an opportunity to engage with international counterparts and discuss pressing global and regional security issues. Following the welcome ceremony, President Shanmugaratnam and General Secretary To Lam held talks, underscoring the significance of their bilateral discussions in enhancing cooperation between Singapore and Vietnam.
