Brussels: All visits and interactions between Vietnam and the US are part of efforts to concretise their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, according to Professor Piper Campbell, Chair of the Department of Foreign Policy and Global Security at American University's School of International Service. The US professor was speaking to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Washington DC ahead of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam's attendance at the High-level General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) and bilateral activities in the US from September 20.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the engagement between the two nations is aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation. This aligns with their shared goals of promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. Professor Campbell highlighted that such high-level visits are instrumental in advancing diplomatic ties and fostering a deeper strategic alignment between Vietnam and the US.

The participation of Vietnam's leadership in significant international forums like the UNGA further underscores the country's commitment to playing an active role on the global stage. These interactions not only reflect Vietnam's foreign policy priorities but also signify the importance of its relationship with the US, which has been steadily strengthened over the years through continuous dialogue and collaboration.
