Hanoi: The upcoming state visit to Canada by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam is anticipated to create significant political momentum for bilateral relations, as stated by Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Jim Nickel. The visit marks a historic moment, as it is the first time Canada will host a Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President since the establishment of diplomatic relations over 50 years ago.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the ambassador expressed optimism about the visit, which comes at the invitation of Canadian Governor General Louise Arbour.
