Thanh hoa: The central province of Thanh Hoa targets sustainable forestry by focusing on developing large-timber forests in line with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards, aiming to enhance economic value, improve local livelihoods, and expand export markets. In 2024, Thanh Hoa had 597,438 hectares of forests, including 393,361 hectares of natural ones and 254,075 hectares of planted ones, reaching a forest coverage rate of 53.91%. Since early 2025, the province has added 20,592 hectares of forest, raising the coverage rate to 53.97%.
According to Vietnam News Agency, to date, ten linkage chains have been established between households or household groups and wood processing enterprises, with 32,282 hectares of FSC-certified forest areas involving 5,442 households.
