Cabinet approves allocation of central budget to pay K for motorway construction, highway 600 million baht, to reduce contractor liquidity problems. Ms. Nattareeya Thaweewong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Administration, announced after the Cabinet meeting that the Cabinet approved the allocation of the central budget for 2024 in the amount of 600 million baht to pay compensation for construction costs under the contract with an adjustable price (K value) of the Department of Highways after there were outstanding payments to the contractors, such as the motorway construction project, the special highway network construction project, the national highway network construction project, with 170 outstanding payments totaling 1,592 million baht. For the 111 items that have not yet been allocated a budget of 992.38 million baht, it has been disbursed in the investment budget for land and buildings. For the remaining amount, it is considered appropriate to adjust the work plan and budget spe nding plan for fiscal year 67 from projects/items that have achieved their objectives and have remaining budget, or items that are no longer necessary, or items that are expected to not be completed in fiscal year 2024 by transferring allocated funds or changing the allocated funds, as the case may be, according to the regulations on budget management. This action is to help contractors who are suffering from a lack of liquidity and to expedite the completion of various highway construction projects according to plan and to ensure the safety of the people traveling in various areas.
