The owner of the pomelo orchard helped buy black chin tilapia to make Khanom Jeen curry to offer to the temple.

Join hands and help each other. While many agencies are helping to suppress the black-chinned tilapia, the owner of a Samut Songkhram pomelo orchard also wants to help fish farmers. So he bought all the black-chinned tilapia and offered them to the temple. He opened a charity kitchen to serve rice noodles with fish curry.

Fishermen helped catch black-chinned tilapia in a natural shrimp pond in Tambon Bang Kaew, Amphoe Mueang, Samut Songkhram Province. A large pomelo orchard owner in the province came to buy from the shrimp pond where the black-chinned tilapia was found. He selected fresh black-chinned tilapia from the pond to make fish curry noodles. He opened a charity kitchen at Wat Intharam, Tambon Mueang Mai, Amphoe Amphawa, Samut Songkhram Province, to feed the public for free for 3 days from August 10-12. He will also give away 2 fried black-chinned tilapia to the poor for free at 3 p.m. tomorrow to make merit on the occasion of National Mother’s Day.

Mrs. Pornpanee, 47 years old, the owner of the po
melo orchard, said that this year the pomelo production at the orchard was good, with a high price. She was also lucky to win the lottery. She saw the news about the black-chinned tilapia being prevalent and wanted to help her fellow farmers, so she discussed with the temple that she would bring black-chinned tilapia to offer as a donation to open a food pavilion every Saturday and Sunday, starting this week. She plans to help open the food pavilion every week until she can’t find large black-chinned tilapia to cook.
