Hanoi: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, participated in the Vietnam-Russia science and technology forum focused on strategic technology connections on September 9. The event saw the presence of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, and nearly 500 participants, including representatives from policymaking agencies, research institutes, technology business associations, experts, scientists, and investors from both nations.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the forum served as a platform for launching the Vietnam-Russia knowledge network. It also facilitated the exchange of cooperation documents concerning science-technology and education between the two countries. This initiative is seen as a significant move towards strengthening bilateral relations by establishing science and technology cooperation as a new pillar in Vietnam-Russia ties. The high-level participation and the signing of cooperation documents underscore the commitment of both nations to foster innovation and collaborative research efforts.
