Hanoi: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam on September 18 chaired a ceremony in Hanoi to present appointment decisions to two Vietnamese ambassadors to foreign countries. Under the decisions, Pham Binh Dam, Director-General of the Secretariat of APEC 2027 under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was appointed Ambassador to Timor-Leste. Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of Middle East and Africa, was appointed Ambassador to Angola, Congo, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, and Cabo Verde.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the appointments are part of Vietnam's ongoing efforts to enhance its diplomatic relations and cooperation with various nations. Pham Binh Dam and Nguyen Van Hieu are expected to play crucial roles in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering collaboration in their respective regions.

The ceremony was attended by various officials and dignitaries who expressed their support and expectations for the newly appointed ambassadors. Their roles are seen as pivotal in advancing Vietnam's foreign policy objectives and promoting mutual understanding and partnerships on the international stage.
