Hanoi: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam has called for clearer rules governing Party members engaged in private business, saying the new regulations should encourage lawful economic activity and help mobilise resources for national development. The top leader made the request while chairing a working session with the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policy and Strategy in Hanoi on September 14 to discuss a draft project on new regulations concerning Party members engaged in the private sector.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the proposed regulations aim to align the involvement of Party members in private business with the nation's broader economic goals. By setting clearer guidelines, the Party seeks to ensure that members' participation in private enterprises is both transparent and beneficial to the country's growth.

The discussion highlighted the importance of creating an environment where economic activities by Party members can thrive without compromising the integrity and objectives of the CPV. The draft project is anticipated to foster a balanced approach that supports innovation and entrepreneurship while maintaining strict adherence to Party principles.
