Hanoi: Vietnamese businesses operating in Cambodia recently convened with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) to address challenges and improve investment conditions for Vietnamese enterprises in the country. The meeting took place on September 14 in Phnom Penh and was organized in collaboration with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, the Vietnamese Embassy's Economic Office and Trade Office in Cambodia, and the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Association (VCBA).
According to Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam currently manages 223 investment projects in Cambodia, with a total registered capital nearing 3.4 billion USD. Vietnamese companies have a presence across various sectors including agriculture, particularly large-scale farming, finance and banking, telecommunications, aviation, processing, trade, and services. These enterprises provide employment to tens of thousands of local workers and significantly contribute to Cambodia's budget annually. In addition, they actively support local social welfare initiatives, reinforcing the socio-economic ties between the two nations.
