Top Leader Receives Assistant to Russian President and Chairman of Maritime Board

Hanoi: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam received Assistant to the President and Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev in Moscow on September 8 (local time), as part of his state visit to the country.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between the Vietnamese leader and Nikolai Patrushev was part of an ongoing effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Vietnam and Russia. Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in maritime affairs, economic development, and other mutual interests. Both parties expressed their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between their respective countries.

The visit is seen as a significant step in fostering closer ties between Vietnam and Russia, especially in the maritime sector, which is crucial for both nations given their extensive coastlines and reliance on maritime trade.
