Top Legislator Extends Vesak Greetings in Ho Chi Minh City

Singapore: National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on May 29 visited and extended greetings to Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, Supreme Patriarch of the Patronage Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), and Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Vice Supreme Patriarch and President of the VBS Executive Council, on the occasion of Vesak 2026 (Buddhist Calendar 2570).

According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit highlighted the significance of Vesak, an important event in the Buddhist calendar. The NA Chairman conveyed his best wishes and recognized the contributions of the Buddhist community to the country's development.

The meeting underscored the strong relationship between the government and religious communities, emphasizing mutual respect and cooperation. Chairman Tran Thanh Man acknowledged the role of the VBS in promoting cultural and spiritual values, contributing to national unity and social stability.

The leaders of the VBS expressed gratitude for the support from the government, reaffirming their commitment to fostering peace and harmony within the community. The Vesak celebration serves as a reminder of the shared values and unity among the people of Vietnam.
