SSIT Welcomes LNG-Powered Mega Container Ship on New Trans-Pacific Route

Singapore: The SP-SSA International Container Services Joint Venture Company (SSIT) has successfully received the LNG-powered container vessel Zim Mount Rainier operating on the new ZXB trans-Pacific service route run by Israel's ZIM shipping line, directly linking Vietnam with the US East Coast. The event marks an important milestone affirming the SSIT's capability to handle ultra-large container ships as well as its commitment to promoting green maritime development in the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port cluster.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the arrival of Zim Mount Rainier represents a significant step for the SSIT in showcasing its ability to accommodate and manage ultra-large container ships. This development is part of a broader strategy to enhance the operational capacity of the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port cluster, positioning it as a competitive and environmentally conscious player in the global shipping industry. The new ZXB service route established by ZIM offers a direct connection between Vietnam and the US East Coast, providing a strategic advantage for trade and logistics operations in the region.
