General Secretary and President Lam is in Singapore for a state visit from May 29 - 31, during which he attended and delivered a keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue on May 29 at the invitation of Bastian Giegerich, Director-General and Chief Executive of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between the two leaders took place on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue, an annual security summit that gathers defense ministers and military chiefs from across the Asia-Pacific region. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The visit by General Secretary and President Lam underscores Vietnam's commitment to enhancing its diplomatic ties in Southeast Asia, particularly with Timor-Leste.
