Two Wartime Bombs Safely Disposed of in Quang Tri

Quang tri: Two 227-kg bombs left over from the war have been safely removed and destroyed after being discovered in densely populated areas of the central province of Quang Tri, according to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) on June 10.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the bombs were identified by local residents who immediately notified the authorities. The Mines Advisory Group quickly responded to ensure the safety of the community and conducted a controlled detonation to neutralize the threat posed by the unexploded ordnance.

The discovery and neutralization of these bombs are part of ongoing efforts to clear Quang Tri province of leftover explosives from previous conflicts. The region has been one of the most heavily bombed areas in Vietnam, and such operations are crucial in safeguarding the local population and fostering development in the area.

Authorities continue to encourage residents to report any suspicious objects to ensure public safety and support the ongoing clearance projects aimed at removing remnants of war from the province.
