Bangkok: The Vietnamese delegation has actively engaged in various discussions and shared its achievements at the second Asia-Pacific Regional Review of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (GCM), held in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 4-6. Phan Thi Minh Giang, Deputy Director of the Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the delegation that included representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; National Defence; Public Security; Justice; Health; Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; and Education and Training; and the Vietnam Women’s Union.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the conference provided a platform for Vietnam to present its efforts and accomplishments in implementing the GCM objectives. The Vietnamese delegation highlighted initiatives and policies that have been adopted to ensure safe and orderly migration, emphasizing Vietnam’s commitment to international cooperation in this field.
The participation of a broad range of Vietnamese ministries and organizations reflects the country’s comprehensive approach to addressing migration issues. Vietnam’s contributions to the conference were well-received, underscoring its role in fostering regional dialogue and cooperation on migration.
