Havana: Le Hoai Trung, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, recently visited Cuba as the Special Envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam. During his visit, which took place from June 20 to 22, Trung engaged in discussions with key Cuban leaders, including First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel, as well as Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz. His agenda also included talks with Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Trung's visit highlighted discussions aimed at enhancing comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba in a new development stage. In addition to meeting with Cuban leaders, Trung took the opportunity to connect with the Vietnamese community and staff at the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba. His visit also included tours of Vietnamese-invested projects in agriculture, rice cultivation, and essential goods production, demonstrating Vietnam's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through various economic initiatives.
The meetings underscored a shared commitment to fostering robust bilateral relations and exploring avenues for collaboration in various sectors. The visit marked an important step in reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the two countries, emphasizing mutual cooperation and development goals.
