Vietnam and Laos Focus on 2026 Cooperation Priorities

Hanoi: The mid-year meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee on the implementation of the 2026 cooperation plan was held in Da Nang city on August 27. Vietnamese Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee Ngo Van Tuan and Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Santiphab Phomvihane, who is also Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee, co-chaired the event.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on advancing the cooperation priorities set for 2026, emphasizing the mutual commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. Both parties discussed various initiatives and projects aimed at fostering economic growth and development, with a particular focus on enhancing trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.

During the discussions, Ngo Van Tuan highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the two nations, noting that the strategic partnership is pivotal to achieving the outlined goals. Santiphab Phomvihane echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for both countries to continue working closely to ensure the successful implementation of the cooperation plan.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their dedication to furthering the partnership, setting the stage for future engagements and collaborative efforts to achieve the objectives of the 2026 cooperation plan.
