Dien Bien:Vietnam's Dien Bien province and Laos' Luang Prabang province have reached a consensus to upgrade the Huoi Puoc-Na Son border gate to international status by 2027.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the provinces plan to complete their internal procedures by 2026 and will work together on bilateral processes to achieve this upgrade. The agreement was finalized during a meeting on September 30, held at border marker No. 144 along the Vietnam-Laos border.

The talks were led by Nguyen Van Doat, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien's provincial People's Committee, and Viengvilay Dilaphan, Vice Chairwoman of Luang Prabang's provincial Administration Committee.
