Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung recently met with Saroj Kumar Jha, Global Director for the World Bank Group's Water Department, and Mariam Sherman, WB Division Director for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the areas of water security, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the World Bank, particularly in addressing the challenges related to water management and climate change in the region. Both parties emphasized the importance of sustainable development practices to ensure long-term water security.
During the discussions, Deputy Prime Minister Dung highlighted Vietnam's commitment to collaborating with international partners, like the World Bank, to implement effective solutions for climate adaptation and resilience. The World Bank representatives expressed their continued support for Vietnam's initiatives and stressed the need for integrated water resource management strategies.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to explore further opportunities for collaboration, aiming to leverage resources and expertise to tackle environmental challenges effectively.
