Nui Thanh: The Vietnam Coast Guard Region 2 Command recently hosted an exchange with a delegation from the Philippine Coast Guard, led by Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Joeven L. Fabul, at its headquarters in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam. This exchange marked a significant event as it coincided with the first-ever visit by a Philippine Coast Guard vessel to Vietnam.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the exchange is part of broader activities scheduled between the two nations’ coast guards. On April 17, officers and crew from the Vietnam Coast Guard ship CSB 8002 and the BRP Gabriela Silang are set to participate in a joint exercise. This exercise will focus on enhancing coordination and command in search and rescue operations, as well as improving techniques in firefighting and explosion prevention at sea.
