Leipzig: Acknowledging Germany’s serious challenges stemming from population ageing and an acute shortage of skilled workers, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang has emphasised that labour cooperation between Vietnam and Germany is strategically complementary and mutually beneficial. Thang made the remarks at the Vietnam-Germany Labour Cooperation Forum held in Leipzig on December 9 by the Vietnam Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Germany (BMAS) and Leipzig authorities. The event was part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the forum served as a platform for both nations to explore and discuss potential avenues for enhancing labour cooperation. The strategic partnership aims to address Germany’s workforce challenges while simultaneously providing Vietnamese workers with valuable employment opportunities and skills development in a developed economy. The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and fostering a mutually beneficial relationship through targeted labour collaboration initiatives.
