Vietnam Hands Over Chairmanship of Asia-Pacific Group in Vienna to India

Vienna: Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna, recently transferred the Chairmanship of the Asia-Pacific Group (APG) in Vienna to Ambassador Shambhu Kumaran, head of the Indian Mission.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the handover marks a significant transition of leadership within the APG, as India assumes the role previously held by Vietnam. The ceremony underscored the continued collaboration among member nations in addressing regional matters and furthering mutual interests.

The Asia-Pacific Group in Vienna plays a crucial role in facilitating dialogue and cooperation among its member countries. It serves as a platform for discussing and coordinating on issues relevant to the Asia-Pacific region within international organisations based in Vienna. The leadership change is expected to bring new perspectives and strategies under India’s guidance.
