Addis Ababa: Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh introduced African countries to the forthcoming signing ceremony for the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi. This introduction took place during the African Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from April 8-10.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the event served as a platform for Vietnam to engage with African nations on the importance of international cooperation in combating cybercrime. Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh emphasized the significance of the UN convention in establishing a global framework to address cybercrime issues, which continue to pose challenges worldwide.
The meeting in Addis Ababa was attended by representatives from various African countries, who expressed interest in the details of the upcoming signing ceremony. The UN Convention against Cybercrime aims to foster international collaboration and provide legal measures to prevent cybercrime, offering countries a unified approach to tackle these threats effectively.
