Vietnam, Laos Promote Trade and Transport Connectivity

Vientiane: Vietnam and Laos are stepping up cooperation in trade, transport, and logistics connectivity as both countries seek to strengthen supply chains and facilitate cross-border commerce, officials said at the Vietnam-Laos Logistics Business Forum 2026 held in Vientiane on May 26.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the forum brought together key stakeholders from both nations to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and improving logistics infrastructure. Representatives highlighted the importance of these initiatives in boosting economic growth and fostering a more integrated regional market.

The forum emphasized the need for streamlined procedures and improved transport links to reduce transaction costs and increase efficiency in the movement of goods between the two countries. With the signing of new agreements, Vietnam and Laos aim to create a more robust framework for cooperation that will support long-term economic development.

In addition, officials pointed out that enhanced connectivity in trade and transport will not only benefit Vietnam and Laos but also contribute to the broader economic integration of Southeast Asia.
