Vietnam, Laos Strengthen Cooperation in Border Management and Development

Vientiane: The 34th annual meeting between Vietnamese and Lao border delegations took place in Vientiane from December 25-27. The Vietnamese delegation was led by Standing Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, while the Lao delegation was led by Lao Deputy Foreign Minister Maythong Thammavongsa.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in border management and development between the two countries. The discussions aimed at addressing mutual concerns related to border security and promoting sustainable development in border areas.

Both delegations emphasized the importance of maintaining regular communication and coordination to effectively manage and resolve issues along the shared border. They also highlighted the need for joint efforts to facilitate economic growth and improve living conditions for communities residing in border regions.

The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to uphold peace and stability along their common border, ensuring a conducive environment for continued cooperation and development.
