Hanoi: Vietnam Customs celebrated a milestone on December 25 as the nation’s total import-export turnover surpassed 900 billion USD for the first time. This achievement represents the highest level ever recorded and marks a significant step in Vietnam’s ongoing journey of international economic integration.
According to Vietnam News Agency, total trade in 2025 was estimated to reach approximately 920 billion USD, representing a 16.9% increase year-on-year. Of this total, exports accounted for 470.59 billion USD, reflecting a 15.9% rise compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, imports totaled 449.41 billion USD, marking an 18% increase. This resulted in a trade surplus of around 21.2 billion USD, signifying the 10th consecutive year that Vietnam has achieved a trade surplus. With this remarkable feat, Vietnam has joined the ranks of the world’s 25 largest trading economies.
