Vietnam Leads Successful Resolution on Model Law on Automated Contracting.

New York: The United Nations General Assembly’s Sixth Committee has adopted by consensus a resolution on the Model Law on Automated Contracting, which was negotiated under Vietnam’s chairmanship. This Model Law was drafted by the UN Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Vietnam’s leadership in drafting the resolution underscores the timeliness and widespread international support for the law.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the successful coordination by Vietnam highlights the country’s proactive and significant contribution as a member of UNCITRAL during its 2019-2025 term. This effort aligns with the UN’s ongoing mission to develop, harmonize, and implement international trade laws effectively. Vietnam’s active participation has also been instrumental in securing its reelection to UNCITRAL for the 2025-2031 term, with a substantial vote count of 175 out of 183 on November 20.
