Vietnam People’s Army Must Stay Steadfast in Five Pillars in New Context: Party Chief

Hanoi: Party General Secretary To Lam has outlined five major pillars that the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) must remain steadfast to be fully prepared for the new phase of development. Addressing the Central Military Commission’s 15th meeting in Hanoi on December 4, the Party chief, who is also Secretary of the commission, emphasised that the VPA must ensure steadfast political mettle, steadfast discipline, steadfast technology, steadfast military art, and steadfast troop welfare.

According to Vietnam News Agency, these pillars are seen as critical for the VPA as it navigates through evolving global and regional challenges. The emphasis on maintaining a strong political foundation is intended to ensure that the VPA remains loyal to the Party and the nation’s socialist ideals.

The focus on discipline is aimed at ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness, while the emphasis on technology highlights the need for the VPA to modernize and adopt new advancements to combat contemporary threats.

Furthermore, the call for steadfast military art reflects the need for strategic and tactical innovation, and prioritizing troop welfare is essential for maintaining morale and readiness among the forces.
