Hanoi: Vietnam remains committed to promoting more effective and substantive cooperation between ASEAN and New Zealand as well as the UK for the shared benefit of all sides, according to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang at two events held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) 2026 in Hanoi on June 10. The ASEAN-New Zealand Forum on Subregional Cooperation and a workshop marking the fifth anniversary of ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership relations (2021-2026) were hosted by Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its capacity as coordinator of ASEAN's relations with New Zealand and the UK for 2024-2027.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the events emphasized Vietnam's role in coordinating ASEAN's collaborative efforts with New Zealand and the UK. The forums aimed to discuss strategies for enhancing the partnerships and exploring opportunities for joint initiatives in economic, cultural, and educational sectors. The discussions focused on identifying areas where ASEAN countries can work more closely with New Zealand and the UK to address regional challenges and foster mutual growth.
