Hanoi: Vietnam’s tourism industry shattered inbound records despite the height of the storm season, fueling momentum into the year-end surge. The National Statistics Office’s data showed the number of foreign tourist arrivals reached 1.73 million in October, up 13.8% month-on-month and 22.1% year-on-year, the highest monthly tally ever. January-October volume hit nearly 17.2 million, a 21.5% annual increase.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the impressive surge in tourist numbers is particularly noteworthy given the challenges posed by the stormy season, which typically hampers travel plans. The data underscores the resilience and attractiveness of Vietnam as a travel destination, even under adverse weather conditions. The increase in tourism is expected to contribute significantly to the nation’s economy, providing a boost to local businesses and the hospitality sector.
The influx of tourists has been attributed to a combination of factors, including successful marketing campaigns, the reopening of intern
ational borders, and eased travel restrictions. Vietnam’s diverse cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and culinary offerings continue to draw visitors from around the globe. As the year progresses, the tourism industry is optimistic about maintaining this upward trajectory, aiming to close the year with even higher visitor numbers.
