Vietnam, Singapore Enhance Cooperation in IFC Development

Singapore: A Government delegation led by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh is paying a working visit to Singapore from January 10 to 14 to learn the city state's experience in developing an international financial centre (IFC). On January 12, Deputy PM Binh had a meeting with his Singaporean counterpart Gan Kim Yong and working sessions with leaders of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Singapore Economic Development Board. They also met with United Overseas Bank Deputy Chairman and CEO Wee Ee Cheong.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit aims to bolster Vietnam's capabilities in establishing its own international financial centre by drawing on Singapore's successful model. The meetings with Singaporean officials and financial leaders are expected to pave the way for increased collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two nations in this sector. Deputy PM Binh's interactions with key financial institutions highlight the importance Vietnam places on learning from Singapore's expertise in international finance.
