Vietnam Urges EAS to Prioritize Practical Cooperation in Benefiting People

Hanoi: Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung called on East Asia Summit (EAS) countries to prioritize practical cooperation in areas that directly benefit people, including energy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and the fight against transnational crime, cybercrime, and online scams. He made this call while addressing the 16th EAS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila, the Philippines, on July 23.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Minister Trung emphasized the importance of collaboration among EAS member countries to tackle these significant issues. He highlighted the need for joint efforts to enhance energy security and promote digital transformation, which are crucial for regional development. Additionally, Minister Trung stressed the urgency of addressing cybersecurity threats and combating crimes that transcend national borders, particularly cybercrime and online scams, which have become increasingly prevalent.
