Vietnamese Language Contest in Laos Strengthens Youth Ties, Bilateral Friendship

Vientiane: The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, in coordination with the Vietnamese Language Section of the Vietnamese People Association in Vientiane, organized the first 'Future Vietnamese Language Ambassadors' contest for students in the Lao capital on April 3. The contest brought together 40 outstanding contestants from four reputable institutions in Vientiane, namely the Nguyen Du Lao - Vietnamese Bilingual School, the Laos - Vietnam Friendship School, the National University of Laos' School of Gifted and Ethnic Students, and the Vietnamese Language Faculty of the National University of Laos.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the event aimed to enhance the Vietnamese language proficiency among Lao students while fostering deeper cultural and educational ties between the two neighboring countries. The contest provided a platform for young Lao students to showcase their Vietnamese language skills and gain recognition for their efforts in promoting linguistic and cultural understanding.

The participants competed in various segments that tested their linguistic capabilities, including speaking, writing, and comprehension of the Vietnamese language. The competition was not only a display of language skills but also an expression of the growing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, as both countries continue to invest in educational exchanges and cultural programs.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos expressed hopes that the contest would become an annual event, encouraging more students to engage with the Vietnamese culture and language. Such initiatives are expected to further strengthen the collaborative relationship between the two nations, paving the way for new generations to contribute to mutual development and prosperity.
