Hanoi: The 16th National Assembly (NA) will focus on crucial personnel decisions during its inaugural session, including the election of the NA Chairperson, State President, and Prime Minister, as announced by Vice Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Van Hien at a press briefing.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the session will see deputies electing the Vice State President, Vice Chairpersons of the NA, and members of the NA Standing Committee. Additionally, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy will be elected. The session will also involve approving the appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, other government officials, and members of the National Defence and Security Council.
The session is planned to span approximately 11 working days, divided into two phases: April 6-12 and April 20-23. April 24-25 has been set aside as additional days if needed to complete the proceedings.
