Vientiane: Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang met with Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Minister of National Defence of Laos Gen. Khamliang Outhakaysone in Vientiane on February 5.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between the two defence ministers signifies a strengthening of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Laos, focusing on enhancing military cooperation. Both parties emphasized the importance of collaboration in maintaining regional stability and security. The discussions also covered various aspects of mutual interest, aiming to bolster the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership that exists between the two nations.
The meeting highlighted the commitment of both countries to further deepen their defence ties through regular exchanges, joint training, and capacity building initiatives. Gen. Phan Van Giang and Gen. Khamliang Outhakaysone reaffirmed their dedication to working closely on regional security issues and enhancing the operational capabilities of their respective armed forces.
