Hanoi: Politburo member and Standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Secretariat, Tran Cam Tu, led a high-level delegation on August 12 to pay tribute to and attend the funeral service for Xaysomphone Phomvihane, a Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of the Lao National Assembly.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the delegation's visit underscores the deep ties and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. Xaysomphone Phomvihane was a significant figure in Lao politics, and the attendance of a high-level delegation from Vietnam at his funeral highlights the close relationship between the two neighboring countries.
