Vietnamese Pomelos Officially Enter Australian Market

Sydney: A ceremony held on October 9 marked the official export of Vietnamese pomelos to Australia and Australian blueberries to Vietnam. Pomelo has become the eighth Vietnamese fruit permitted to enter the Australian market, following dragon fruit, mango, longan, rambutan, lychee, star apple, and passion fruit. Meanwhile, blueberries are now the eighth Australian fruit allowed into Vietnam, after grapes, oranges, mandarins, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and plums.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this development signifies a strengthening of agricultural trade relations between Vietnam and Australia. The inclusion of pomelos and blueberries in bilateral trade agreements reflects both countries’ efforts to diversify their import and export portfolios, promoting mutual economic benefits. This agreement is expected to bolster the agricultural sectors in both nations, providing local farmers with expanded market access and consumers with more diverse fruit options.
