Hanoi:Vietnam's shrimp exports, a key contributor to the country's fisheries industry, have reached 3.7 billion USD in the first nine months of 2026. This growth has been attributed to a year-on-year increase of 11%, though it represents a slowdown compared to the 14% growth observed in the first half of the year.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) highlighted that sustaining monthly shrimp exports in the range of 470-480 million USD during the final quarter of 2026 is crucial. Achieving this target would help the annual export value to reach between 5.1 and 5.2 billion USD.
The shrimp sector, being the largest foreign currency earner within the fisheries industry, plays a vital role in the economic landscape. The strategic focus remains on maintaining export momentum in the final months of the year to meet the projected financial goals.
