Dai Bai Bronze Casting Village Preserves Ancestral Craft

Bac ninh: Famous for its traditional bronze forging and casting, through many ups and downs, the skillful hands and creativity of the craftsmen in Dai Bai village, Gia Binh commune, Bac Ninh province, continue to keep the craft alive. From traditional household products such as pots, basins, trays, and pans, the people of Dai Bai have developed many diverse product lines: bronze art paintings, horse paintings, religious items such as incense burners, horizontal plaques with couplets, bronze drums… meeting the needs of the domestic and international markets. Currently, the entire village has 5 hamlets, each specializing in specific products, and nearly 700 households engaged in the craft with more than 1,700 workers, creating a stable source of income.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the village’s dedication to preserving and innovating its craft has allowed it to thrive in a competitive market. The craftsmen’s ability to adapt their traditional skills to create a variety of products has been crucial in s
ustaining the village’s economy. Each of the 5 hamlets within the village focuses on specific items, highlighting the specialized skills that have been passed down through generations.
