Deputy PM Urges Prioritising Post-Typhoon Recovery at Education, Health Facilities

Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has instructed military and police forces to maintain a high level of readiness and actively engage in efforts to address consequences of Typhoon Kajiki, which made landfall in central Vietnam on late August 25 afternoon, with priority given to schools, healthcare facilities, policy beneficiaries, and low-income groups. He made the request during his trip on August 26 to evaluate the typhoon’s impacts and instruct recovery measures in central provinces hard-hit by the typhoon.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of swift recovery operations in essential sectors such as education and healthcare. The directive aims to ensure that schools and hospitals resume operations as soon as possible to minimize disruptions to daily life and essential services for the affected communities.

During his visit, Tran Hong Ha also called for special attention to be given to policy beneficiaries and low-income groups who are most vulnerable to the aftermath of such natural disasters. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need for coordinated efforts among local authorities, military, and police forces to implement effective recovery strategies, ensuring that the most critical needs are addressed promptly.
